🌸 Indian Orchid Festival 2025 – A Celebration of Rare Beauty in Pakyong, Sikkim

The Indian Orchid Festival 2025, held in Pakyong, Sikkim, was a vibrant celebration of the country's rich orchid heritage. Hosted at the ICAR-National Research Centre for Orchids, the event brought together botanists, orchid growers, and enthusiasts from across India.
From March 1 to March 4, 2025, visitors witnessed an extraordinary display of rare and exotic orchids, many native to the Eastern Himalayas. The festival aimed to promote orchid conservation, sustainable cultivation, and highlight their commercial potential in India’s growing horticulture industry.

The exhibition featured over 100 orchid varieties, including:
- Cymbidium Orchids – Prized for their long-lasting blooms.
- Dendrobium Orchids – Known for their vibrant colors and adaptability.
- Vanda Orchids – Stunning blue and violet-hued flowers.
- Paphiopedilum (Lady’s Slipper Orchids) – A rare species thriving in shaded forests.

A major attraction was the competitive orchid showcase, where growers competed for top honors. Among the winners, Pranay Rai’s Orchid Ghar secured the prestigious title:
"King of the Show"
